Titanium zinc is ideal for use as façade cladding for small or large façade surfaces. The traditional (roof) systems such as the standing seam, roll cap and lozenge systems can also be used to great effect. Applications in cassette form and reveal panel profile systems are also highly suitable façade cladding options.

Zinc façade cladding
NedZink titanium zinc is perfectly suitable as zinc façade cladding. There is a wide choice of façade systems in zinc, with each system having its own appearance. In addition to the traditional (roof) systems such as the standing seam, roll cap and lozenge system, the cassette form and the reveal panel profile systems are also ideally suited to cladding the façade with zinc.
If, for example, you choose a lozenge system, the facade will be covered with “zinc slates”. Different sizes of zinc slates can be used, which affects the appearance of the zinc façade as a whole. The reveal panel profile system gives the zinc façade a sleek appearance with special auxiliary profiles that accentuate the horizontal and vertical lines. With the cassette system, the façade is divided into even surfaces and the shadow gap between the cassettes determines the characteristic visual image.
What are the advantages of a zinc façade cladding?
Zinc façade cladding brings many advantages, including:
- It gives a modern look to the building that is clad with it;
- Zinc is 100% recyclable;
- Because zinc is easy to process, the design possibilities are endless! Zinc is used to cover many types of facades. Accentuate certain areas with a unique way of covering zinc so that an authentic look and feeling of exclusivity can be created;
- A zinc façade is maintenance-friendly with a very long life span
What types of zinc façade cladding are there?
Zinc cladding is available in many forms and designs:
Standing seam system: cladding with a single lock
The standing seam system makes it possible for a façade to be covered with titanium zinc quickly because preformed bays are used, and the seams are folded mechanically, reducing manual folding to a minimum. The preformed bays are supplied in custom-made sizes and are locked together on site with a single or double fold, by machine or by hand. Aside from straight bays, curved (convex and concave) and tapering bays can be made without problems. The bays are secured to the substructure by means of fixed and sliding clips.
With a standing seam façade, the zinc bays are connected in the longitudinal direction with standing seams (thickness 0.80 mm). The allowable bay width is determined by the wind load and the height of the façade. If the standing bay installed horizontally, then it is recommended to limit the bay width to 300 to 430 mm for optimal work, and to limit the length to about 5 meters for handling reasons. If the standing seam bays are installed vertically, then limiting the bay width to 500 mm or less and the bay length to about 6 meters is recommended for handling reasons. The sheets are connected with a single clip at the top end.
Lozenge system: a mosaic of small zinc sheets
In the case of the Lozenge system, the zinc cladding is made up of zinc panes or zinc slates (uniform, small sheets) that are hooked together like a mosaic. Cladding of small, large and even moderately curved surfaces is possible using this system.
Lozenge is the French word for diamond. Lozenges are available in square, rectangular and diamond shapes.
Cassette system: flat zinc bays as a facade cladding
The cassette system is modular and allows for design versatility and the lightweight systems lends itself to installation in either vertical or horizontal applications. The grid size can be customized per project/order. The panel size and seams between the various panels can vary and be adjusted to the acquired. The cassette is made of solid zinc with a material thickness of 1.5 mm.
Benefits of this cassette system are a fast, easy and cost-effective assembly. The panels have a long service life and are maintenance-friendly. In principle they do not require periodic cleaning. The panels are prefab formed and available in multiple shapes and dimensions.
Plank system: zinc planks with a shadow gap
The system consists of profiled zinc sheets with a variable width size, typical coverage witha joint (reveal). The dimensions of the panels and joints are variable, as are the lengths of the panels. The characteristic of this panel is a tongue and groove systems with concealedfasteners. Through fastening is possible.
The Interlocking Panel system is suitable for façade cladding and can be installed bothvertically and horizontally or even a combination. Therefore the system offers architects freeway to implementing their designs for most building shapes to utilize this system. The special advantage of the reveal panel is the design freedom of face heights that canrange from 6″-13″ with a variable joint widths.
The panels are prefab formed and available in multiple shapes and dimensions.
